Past participants of Varberg Winter Retreat

I was only there on Sunday. Attended Michael, Michelle and Kyle’s classes and the closing ceremony. Inspiration and energy boost! Kyle’s class was a real highlight, I chose it mostly because I would fill the last activity, what an experience! Still carry it with me. Next year, which I hope it will be, I will try to attend several days.

Classes with Holly Husler:
Surrender – A Crystal Bowl Sound Journey
Choose a mat and lie down. Then release, let go, and dissolve into stillness. Rest deeply into the quiet arms of winter; the sacred pause before rebirth. Through the healing frequencies of Holly’s alchemy crystal bowls, you’ll be guided to release what is ready to fall away: old stories, energies, and layers no longer needed. Nothing to do but surrender.
Renew – A Crystal Bowl Sound Journey
In Holly’s second session, the focus shifts from endings to the fertile space of becoming. Lie down and close your eyes. Within the resonant field of the crystal bowls, you’ll be guided to connect with your inner light and the seed of new life stirring beneath the surface. We’ll share an intention to awaken the heart and solar plexus, so that you leave feeling full of love, inspiration and a gentle power.
Awaken – A Crystal Bowl Sound Journey
This closing sound journey celebrates renewal – stepping forward with clarity, purpose, and light. The pure crystalline frequencies from Holly’s alchemy bowls will lift your energy from root to crown, leaving you feeling rested but uplifted, spacious, and ready to bloom into the next chapter of your life.
Classes with Michelle Baker:
Breathwork – Caretaking the Nervous System
If there is one thing that I know breathwork is able to support us with, it’s with helping build a more resilient nervous system so that we can face life’s challenges with less reactivity and more stability. The practice offers us a space to both process and purge as well as a space to land into a more meditative, neutral and regenerative state. Life challenges are a necessary part of our personal and collective evolution and breathwork is the best medicine I know to help us prepare to meet and move through them.
We’ll begin class in circle with an introduction to the breath and an (optional) communal conversation around the theme before diving into the main ingredient, the breath. We’ll close our time together in circle in quite or open conversation.
Breathwork — Heartwork & The Art of Forgiveness
If you’ve been to breathwork with me before, you know that, in one way or another, this practice is always and ever heartwork. As one of the 13 indigenous grandmothers says, ‘the longest path you’ll ever travel is the half meter it takes you to get from your head to your heart.’ Tending to the heart is tending to the Spirit. Tending to the Spirit can deeply transform your ability to open to and embrace love (inwardly and outwardly). In some wisdom traditions, the back of the heart is referred to as the sea of forgiveness, so alongside exploring the quadrants, tendrils and wisdom of the heart, we’ll tap into those deep water reservoirs to explore the art of forgiveness.
We’ll begin class in circle with an introduction to the breath and an (optional) communal conversation around the theme before diving into the main ingredient, the breath. We’ll close our time together in circle in quite or open conversation.
Yin & Pranayama — Nourishing the Winter Body
Yin Yoga is one of my favorite ways to lean into the body’s essential elemental nature and Winter (in TCM) is governed by the Water element. This combination of Yin & Pranayama is designed to support you with replenishing your ancient, internal waters — the most nourishing and essential substance for life. While also tend to the organs of the seasons: the kidneys and bladder, which store and govern your vitality (Qi) and your essence (Jing).
My hope is that you leave this two hour class with a feeling rejuvenated, embodied and restored.
